The exhibition “link – to artificial intelligence” focuses on a highly topical and explosive subject, in whose context the question of the role of humans repeatedly arises. The exhibition pursues this question and searches for the connection, the link, between the abstract topic of A.I. and the personal points of contact with the everyday life of the visitors. Those who enter the exhibition are met with a demystification process: the visitors embark on an exciting, multimedia journey that leads from the beginnings of A.I. as a consequence of technologization to the achievements and areas of application of A.I. in the present. Ethical and moral questions raised by the topic of A.I. are also not neglected. Furthermore, visitors can exchange their impressions and thoughts in the cloud and share their experiences with each other.
Room 1: The Desktop
At the beginning of the exhibition, the visitors are, metaphorically speaking, in front of a computer screen. Not without reason, the room bears the title “Desktop.”
In an audiovisual room installation, pop-cultural representations of A.I. are shown projected onto semi-transparent gauzes. In between, scenes can be seen that announce the various thematic areas of the exhibition. The side walls are mirrored and reflect the impressions into an overlapping image composition. The seemingly infinitely expanding spatial dimension creates a suction effect.

Room 2: The Circuit Board
On the first upper floor, the visitors enter the circuit board, the “brain” of a computer. Here they discover the backgrounds of Artificial Intelligence and learn what exactly A.I. is and where it comes from. To enable the visitors to engage with the topic in an informed way, the room reveals the theories and methods that make today’s state of A.I. research possible.
The circuit board is characterized by numerous light boxes and interactive displays. Conductor tracks, which are illuminated by UV light, run through the room and convey the feeling as if all elements of the room were connected to each other.

Room 3: The Data Center
In the third room, the visitors enter the server. Here, current applications and developments of A.I. are transferred to questions from different areas of the visitors’ lives.
At interactive stations, the visitors learn what societal and personal impacts A.I. has or could have on their everyday life. These interactive stations are each located in one of six server cabinets, which are connected to each other by a corridor.
As in the first room, the side walls of the corridor are covered with mirrors, which seemingly extend the depth of the room to infinity and give the impression of being in the middle of a global data center.

Room 4: The Cloud
Finally, the visitors enter the Cloud – a white room, which is spanned on the sides with ropes of the same color. These intersect at various points, giving the impression of an interconnected network.
Suspended in this network, displays can be found at various points showing “aski” – the exhibition’s own chatbot. The visitors can ask aski questions about the exhibition via a tablet also spanned in the space. The special feature: through the visitors’ questions, aski learns more and more knowledge over the course of the exhibition.
